Full Description

13 sherds of Iron Age calcite-gritted pottery, including scored ware and one wheel-turned base fragment, were found in 1979, during field walking on land to the east of Kirton Wood, Ropsley and Humby. Found on a significant sandy hummock within an extensive area of till. A quern fragment of likely Iron Age date was also recovered. {1}
