The finds included domestic pottery (Grey ware and Colour-Coated ware), roof and floor tile and slag, including pieces of tap slag. A spread of limestone pieces was also identified. The artefacts may indicate an area of Roman settlement activity or farmstead. The Estate had reported finding similar material in the spring of 1995. {1} Sherds of Grey ware pottery were noted in this location during a visit, conducted on 09/03/2006, when the site was under cultivation. {2}
