Full Description
During a site visit to the area, banks and ditches were recorded along its northern and western boundaries, but only a ditch along its southern edge. This may indicate that Auster Wood formerly extended to the south. {1}
An area of woodland (all of which is classified as plantation) included in the Nature Conservancy Council's 'Inventory of Ancient Woodland'. Ancient woodland status considered to be probable. {2}
