Full Description
During site visit to the area, a bank and ditch system was observed around the boundary of the wood. east west aligned ridge and furrow has also been recorded Archaeological remains indicate that the woods have been enlarged since the medieval period. (NB: the report also includes Great Braceborough Wood and does not differentiate between the two). {1}
An area of woodland (all of which is classified as plantation) included in the Nature Conservancy Council's 'Inventory of Ancient Woodland'. Ancient woodland status considered to be probable. {2}
