Full Description

Ridge and furrow northeast of Casewick Hall was identified in aerial photographs. {1}{2} The strips of several furlongs of the open fields of the villages of Barholm, Uffington, and Casewick can be seen as ridge and furrow earthwoks, cropmarks and soilmarks. The earthworks were described as being pronounced in 1965 {3}{4}, however aerial photographs taken in the 2000s suggest more limited survival {5}. Faint traces are visible LIDAR even in the areas which have clearly been subject to levelling, with two broad orientations visible, east west, and northeast to southwest {6}.
