Full Description

A duck decoy pond known as the Bourne Decoy was located on Bourne North Fen, between Twenty Station and the River Glen. {1} The site is marked on the 1st edition 1" Ordnance Survey map of this area, with the pond labelled as 'Decoy'. {2} Although no longer labelled as a decoy, the outline of the former pond is clearly marked in this area on the 1st edition 6" Ordnance Survey County Series map. The field pattern in this area had significantly changed by the time of the 2nd edition 25" Ordnance Survey County Series map, indicating that the pond had been backfilled by the time of this map's publication. {3}{4}
