'...IN GRAVEL PIT IN MILL DROVE, BOURNE DURING 1921 SOME 20 YARDS WEST OF THE RAILWAY LINE A SMALL BOWL 4' DIAMETER SUPPORTED ON 3 CRUDE LEGS 1' LONG WAS FOUND. NEARBY WAS A METAL SPEARHEAD', BIRKBECK, 1976. BIRKBECK THOUGHT IT TO HAVE BEEN FOOD VESSEL BUT IT MAY HAVE BEEN EARLY SAXON. {1}{2}, HTM 9M
