Full Description

An artefact scatter of pottery, fired clay, and animal bone was found within a dark soil stain, adjacent to the peat fen. Rubble and burnt limestone are present, and likely originate from a local limestone outcrop. Artefacts were found in a field of rape crop. {1} Are 0.7H, HTM 4M A probable Romano-British settlement site is visible in aerial photographs, taken in July 1984. It has double ditches, and is roughly rectangular in shape. {2}
