Full Description
Oasby Manor has a 15th century or earlier west wing which includes a fine oriel window. East of this the facade is 17th century, terminating in a 19th century 2 storeyed extension. {1}{2}{3}
A 17th century manor house with much 19th century work. The west wing has, in its south gable end, a 15th century canted oriel window corbelled out on an angel figure. {4}
A 17th century house incorporating some reused 15th century stone work and with substantial 19th century alterations. It is built of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings. It has stone-coped gables with a Collyweston slate roof, and a lower roof with pantiles. It has a 4 bay front with to left an end gabled bay. It is one and two storeys with attic rooms. Above the front door, and to one side, is a sundial. There is a reused 15th century oriel window on the first floor. It is thought that the oriel has been brought from elsewhere and inserted in the 19th century. The interior has a reused 17th century staircase with barley twist balusters and with 15th century applied carved figures to the newel posts. The landing string is a carved panel with 17th century ornamentation. The fireplace in the cross wing has a wide shallow arched 16th or 17th century moulded stone surround which appears to have been cut down. The house has many reused items in its interior which may date from a previous occupant of the house known to be a collector of architectural fragments. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {5}
Oasby Manor, Heydour. Partially extant 17th century farmstead. Dispersed with multiple regular yards. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a village. {6}
