Full Description

THE SITE OF WYVILLE MEDIEVAL VILLAGE IS UNCERTAIN, BUT IF THE COFFINS FOUND AT SYCAMORE FARM (33945) REPRESENT THE CHURCH SITE, THE VILLAGE WAS PROBABLY IN THE VICINITY. {1}{2} WYVILLE IS LISTED IN THE DOMESDAY BOOK. THERE WAS A SMALL CHURCH HERE WITH A JOINT RECTORY WITH HUNGERTON. WYVILLE IS AN EXTANT HAMLET. THERE IS MUCH GROUND DISTURBANCE AT SK88232916, SUGGESTIVE OF SHRINKAGE, BUT THERE ARE NO CERTAIN STEADINGS. {3}
