Full Description
Roman site discovered during road widening. Site partially excavated by N Kerr & KSAS. Plan of Roman? Building, possibly a store or workshop was discovered & small pits containing much RB pottery , iron slag & burnt soil. Obviously ironworking site though no definite evidence of smelting. 2 pottery stamps wre found: amphora stamp of G. ANTONI QVIETI, AD 70-120, and mortarium stamp, probably of Albinus, AD 65-95. {1}{3}{4}
