Moated site. OS published survey 25 inch revised. {1}{2}
One platform damaged by ploughing in May 1994. {3}
On 5th May 1994 the South Kesteven Community Archaeologist visited the site. The owners had shallow-ploughed the surface of the central platform to a depth of three to four inches. The remainder of the moated site was untouched. The ploughed surface was fieldwalked and a representative selection of material was collected. Pottery was visible over the southern half of the platform only. Two spreads of sandstone rubble were noted near the western edge of the platform. The finds included one sherd of possible medieval pottery, several large undated deposits of oyster shells, two fragments of undated sandstone roof tile, and one undated fragment of moulded limestone, circular in section, possibly a window mullion. See PRN 34829 for post medieval finds. {4}
