Full Description

Built 1712, still in use. GP: AO.65.114.3.{1} Almshouses built in 1712 and restored in the 20th century. They are built of squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings, with a plain tiled roof, raised stone coped gables, and with 2 ridge and 2 gable moulded stone stacks. the building is of a single storey with the inscription ‘The Gift of John Thimleby Esqr 1712’ on the lintel of the central door. John Thimleby, buried at Irnham Church in 1712, was the last of his line at Irnham Hall. {3} Six almshouses in Irnham built in 1712 by John Thimbleby. The almshouses were restored in 1985. {4}
