Full Description
At SK965230, a concentration iron slag, also a 3rd-4th century bowl and baked clay furnace lining.{1}{2}
The farmer of Birkholme House took part in rudimentary excavation, when site had just been ploughed. Two main concentrations of slag at SK96502302 and SK96552292, with pottery scattered over wide area.{1}{2}
Possibly an iron smelting site.
