Full Description

Lower stage windows appear to be C16 {2} the upper stage was either added or remodelled by Tom Coney, merchant of the Staple of Calais,1568. Site has been occupied from v early times. S of the existing house on higher ground can be traced the outline of what was doubtless an earlier house. This was surrounded by a moat, which is still water filled (30073). {1}{2}{3}
