Full Description

St Stephen's Church, Carlby, is Early English to late Decorated or Perpendicular and mainly stone rubble and ashlar, with a slate roof. When the church was repaired in 1936, fragmentary evidence of three periods of medieval wall painting, as well as work of the 17th to 18th centuries was discovered. {1}{2}{3} In normal use. {4} Stained glass in this church dates to the 15th century. Some of the glass is in situ. {5}
