Surface find of a 19th century, clay pipe bowl. Identical to a specimen from George Longstaff's pipe kiln in Elm Street found 3 May 1972. On comparison with the bowl from Elm Street one can see both bowls came from the same pipe makers mould. George Longstaff worked in Elm Street, Stamford as a pipe maker from 1846 until his death in 1875. His wife continued pipe making until about 1890. {1}
