CROPMARKS OF ANCIENT FIELDS REPRESENTING A 'PROBABLY ROMAN' SETTLEMENT VISIBLE FROM AIR, SW OF LANGTOFT. {1}{2}{3} SOME OF THIS AREA IS UNDER CROP OTHER PARTS ARE NOW GRAVEL PITS. THERE IS NO VISUAL EVIDENCE OF SETTLEMENT IN THE AREA UNDER CROP; AND NOTHING HAS BEEN RECORDED AS HAVING BEEN SEEN OR FOUND DURING EXCAVATION IN THE GRAVEL WORKINGS. {1}
