Protected Status/Designation

Full Description

Stone slate, one iron bit (see 33324), one fragment of Bourne D glazed ridge tile, four green glazed floor tiles (see also 33324), thirteen Bourne D frags, three tiles with round hole 1.4 centimetres diameter, three Nottingham sherds, seventeen Bourne type sherds including one oval ribbed, stabbed strap and one round handle, one developed Stamford sherd and one unidentified fine hard ware. {1} During fieldwalking undertaken in January to February 2005, medieval pottery, mosaic floor tiles, roofing tile and possibly medieval slag was found suggesting that the settlement at this location [PRN 33330] continued in use. Considering that Sempringham Priory was built in this period, it is likely that the village ceased at this point as its residents took orders. {2}{3}
