Full Description
Romano-British remains were found in Thurlby including some sculpture, but in fragmentary condition. A fine gold aureus Maximian (292-311), was found in drainage works some 30 years since.{1}{2}
The reference speaks of a coin of Maximian but from the dates assigned (292-311) it appears to be a coin of Galerius Maximus.{3}
