Full Description

Roman pottery from the west bank of the Car Dyke was found by the Lincolnshire River Board, and included a Nene valley colour-coated pie dish, a narrow necked jar and a bead rim bowl. The foreman collected the pottery. A site visit was made on the 23.11.1967, there is a possibility there is a section of the Car Dyke on the north where an old channel appears to be under a modern bank as it can be seen in the bank running into the modern Car Dyke. {1}{2} TF11842608: The top stone of a beehive quern was found in 1950-51 at Hacconby Hall. Potsherds have been found in the same area, some from the field to the south, apparently from recent dredgings from the Car Dyke. {3}{4}
