THE SITE OF RINGSTONE HALL, RIPPINGALE, IS CLEARLY MARKED. THE REMAINS OF THE CELLAR AT PRESENT FORM A SMALL POND 14 PACES BY 11 PACES. THE LOST VILLAGE OF RINGSTONE IN RIPPINGALE PARISH WAS MENTIONED BEFORE THE CONQUEST AND AGAIN IN 14TH CENTURY. APs SHOW TRACES (ALTHOUGH PARTIALLY OBLITERATED BY LATER WORKS) OF WHAT APPEARS TO BE DESERTION AT AREA TF 09372703. {1}{2}{3}{4}
THERE ARE NO SURFACE REMAINS OF EITHER RINGSTONE HALL OR VILLAGE, THE AREA AS OUTLINED IS UNDER CROP. THE CELLAR IS FILLED. THERE IS A SURFACE SCATTER OF BUILDING STONE. TF09302695C. {1}

IN 1965 NECK AND SHOULDERS OF LAMBETH (LATE 17TH CENTURY) JUG IN GREY SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE AND PART OF FACE ROUNDEL OF BELLARMINE JUG FOUND ON SITE OF HALL.{5}
QUANTITY OF MEDIEVAL POTTERY AND A FEW SHERDS OF ROMAN FOUND ON THE SITE OF RINGSTONE DMV INCLUDING STAMFORD WARE, BOURNE WARES AND A RIDGE TILE WITH A HOLE FOR A FINIAL AT THE TIP.{6}

The settlement of Ringstone is documented at various times throughout the medieval period, including several fourteenth century references (A Villata 1316, 1327 and 1333; Nomina Villarum Entry 1316; Lay Subsidy Entry 1334). {9}
