Full Description

Paleolithic or possible Neolithic flint hand axe. Via Librarian, Sleaford. {1} Large flat egg-shaped flint scraper, finely worked, heavy white patination. Found in Ouse Mere. (1976) D.D.A Simpson not convinced that it is of Neolithic date. J. May suggests Neolithic. P. Chowne suggests pre-Neolithic. T. Manby suggests a laurel leaf point which has gone wrong during working & has been discarded (1977).
