'In this parish is a spring of very good water which is situated a little way north of Mr. Smith's house, the solicitor: the water rises into a kind of cistern, which is a cube of about 4.5 feet, the spring will fill the cistern when empty in about 35 mins.' {2} Possibly medieval {1}
