Full Description

A medieval mortar from a field scatter off Scottlethorpe Road, Edenham, found in October 1973. The exact location cannot be verified. It is of carved limestone 5 inches square by 4 inches deep with a central hole 2.75 inches in diameter and 1.75 inches deep. There are carved lugs at each corner and at one time it had a pouring lip on one edge. Associated was a limestone block with a pivot hole. {1}
