Full Description
Lock door of the 17th century canal allowing access to the River Welland was found by contractors working at the Borough Sewage Works. The base of the canal was lined with blue clay. Sherds of 17th century slipped ware were found. The canal was backfilled and levelled off in the late 19th century. The location of this record is within the old sewage works. {1}
