Full Description

A hoard of 3000 silver English and Scottish groats Edward III to James II of Scotland (1327-1460) in date. Deposited in about 1465 in a 'coarse brown clay pot (broken)' at the east end of St George's Church. The hoard was discovered in 1866. {1} There are 2940 coins from the hoard in the British Museum. {2}
