PRN 20654
Leper Hospital, dependency of Peterborough Abbey. Founded prior to 1189. May have been established during reign of King Stephen. On W side of upper end of High St on what was later called Spittal Hill. Approx 42 High St, St Martins, or possibly farther south. Had chapel early on but in disrepair by 14th century. In 16th century still used. Site passed to Exeter family. In 1676 remains still visible. {1}
