Full Description

Church destroyed by Lancastrian army 1461. No extant remains. Wall plaque reads 'site of St Peter's mentioned in Domesday. Church pulled down 1560 on the amalgamation of the parish with All Saints'.{1}{2}{3}{4} Situated close to the west limit of the castle, named in DB. Nothing is certainly known to exist. Site abandoned mid-C16. Fragments of church removed after destruction, Stukeley decribes.{5}
