GRANTHAM CASTLE WAS GRANTED TO EDMUND, DUKE OF YORK, IN 1363. IT STOOD NORTHEAST OF THE CHURCH NEAR THE CONFLUENCE OF THE MOWBECK AND WITHAM. THERE IS NO TRACE OF IT NOW. {1}~
