Mentioned 1086. Barkston cum Ringstorp in early C14. Traces of foundations seen in 2 closes adjoining village on W side of Witham. N of road to station APs show faint markings in 2 fields mentioned & in field S of road.{1}{2}{3}{4}{5} Pottery chiefly green glazed & St Neots ware from SK925414. KSAS. {6} Nomina Villarum entry 1316 (Barkeston). {7} Cropmark of a small enclosure at SK 9244 4157 which may be associated with Ringsthorpe DMV. It has also been interpreted as an undated enclosure by NMP. {7}{8}{9}
