Full Description

Orignally a single house thought to date from the 14th century, now divided into two properties. The building was remodelled in the 17th century and extensively altered in 1863. It is built of coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, banded on the right hand side, and with ashlar quoins and dressings. Features a 20th century concrete tiled roof with raised stone coped gables and two moulded gable and off centre ridge stacks. It is of two storeys with attics, and has an irregular six-bay front. The shield-shaped plaque over the left-hand door and inscribed 'IAH 1863' is a later insertion dating to the extensive alterations. Thought to have been on the site of a monastic grange. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate entry in the National Heritage List for England. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
