Full Description

A small barrow indentified on Loveden Hill and excavated in the 1920s led to the discovery of the first of Anglo-Saxon cemetery. It was identifieded by N Kerr as a natural mound, although he also suggested that the groupings of burials suggested a series of small barrows now gone. {1}{2}{3} APs seems to show ditch leading off it west and then turning to the north to form an oval enclosure. There seem to be another three possible mounds at the south side of the field and possibly another to the east of the first. {5}
