Full Description

A number of worked flints, including microliths, cores, 'triangular' arrowheads, blades, borers and scrapers found along with Iron Age pottery and a quartzite macehead at Casthorpe Hills, Barrowby. The material is in Grantham Museum. {1}{2}{3}{4} Heritage Trust Lincolnshire parish file contains a reference to a leaf-shaped arrowhead also being found in this field, and the reference is EMAB 1959. However, the only reference to leaf-shaped arrowheads in this volume is in the area of SK 876 353 (See PRN 30117) (SK 06.9). Also, at SK 873 358 Bronze Age flints were recovered, which include 3 blades, a borer and a side scraper (SK 06.52), and at SK 872 359 7 blades, 1 borer, 15 scrapers, 1 arrowhead, 1 beaker and a macehead were found (SK 06.53; 55). {5}
