Full Description

Casthorpe is recorded in the Domesday Book. In lay subsidy rolls there were villages assessed as East and West Casthorpe in the early 14th century. {1}{2} House sites visible with associated ridge and furrow. {3} Casthorpe is depicted as consisting of 4 buildings on the Ordnance Survey First edition map and the area is now occupied by Casthorpe Lodge only. {4} Newark Museum have aerial photographs of the site. {5}
