Full Description

During work by the Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board to the drain at North Ings a ditch orientated north-west to south-east was identified and a steep-sided pit or ditch. These features were interpreted as remains of the Roman farmsteads and hamlets, droveways and associated field systems that are known from this area of the fens from aerial photography. {1}{2}
