Full Description

This is a Grade II Listed cottage dating from the early 18th century and altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It has a mud and stud construction and was cased in colourwashed brick. It has a pantile roof and single gable stack. For the full description of this listed building please refer to the National Heritage List for England. {1}{2} This building was originally a single storey timber-framed building. The structure was at least five bays in length and was probably originally in agricultural use. In the early 18th century it was truncated along the lines of the present north and south gables and in about 1800 it was encased in brick and converted into a one and a half storey dwelling. {3} Beck Farm, Donington. Partially extant 19th century farmstead. Regular courtyard of U plan. The farmhouse is detached from the main working complex. There has been a partial loss (less than 50%) of traditional buildings. Located within or in association with a hamlet. {4}
