Full Description

PRN 23536 A possible archaeological site near the railway line west of Pinchbeck. Surface finds included medieval pottery sherds. A local farmworker suggested a medieval date for stone building foundations said to have been revealed here during mechanical ditch cleaning. Field walking was carried out, and the surface scatters of pottery were noted, which probably represent medieval and later spreading of farming and waste as fertiliser. There was a possible exception which might have been an occupation spread. {1}{2}
