Full Description

Fragments of an urn and burnt human bone, a Bronze Age, or perhaps Roman cremation, found Godley's Brickyard, Clay Lake. In Spalding Museum. No surface marks of significance seen on air photograph of area. {1} Owner Godley's Brickyard cannot recall find being made, and to his knowledge no archaeological finds have been made since he took possession of the property in 1910. Gentleman's Society Museum retain find, classified as possibly Roman in date. Fragments too small for positive identification. No siting evidence.{1} S J HALLAM GIVES THE NGR AS TF 257214. {3}
