PRN 22341
CROPMARKS SOUTH OF TOINTONS FARM, COWBIT. RAF COVER SHOWS TRACES IN THE AREA, WITH POSSIBLY ASSOCIATED WORKS TO THE SOUTH. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}
THE AP MARKINGS INDICATE A SMALL FARM/SETTLEMENT. THE AREA IS NOW UNDER CROP. THE FARMER KNOWS OF NO ARCHAEOLOGICAL FINDS. {1}{4}
ARCHAEOLOGICAL EVALUATION BY LINDSEY ARCHAEOLOGICAL SERVICES IN 1993 FOUND NO DATING EVIDENCE FROM THE CROPMARK SITE. HOWEVER POLLEN SAMPLES WERE SIMILAR TO THOSE OBTAINED FROM A NEARBY PALAEOCHANNEL AND SUGGEST A POSSIBLE PREHISTORIC DATE. {6}{7}{8}
