Full Description

Probable Roman settlement consisting of ditched enclosures, under plough showing clearly as soilmarks and cropmarks on APs. Part of field system, to east of Common Road, shows as rectilinear ditch network. At A - TF33730931, there is a possible settlement nucleus, but perhaps a palimpset of ditch lines of various dates.{1}{2}{3}{4}{5} Whole of area under crop; one pasture field to the NW shows debased ridge and furrow. An amorphous mound visible at A and surface generally undulates with old ditches evident as dark streaks in crop. Farmers know of no archaeological finds.{1}
