Full Description

Concentrations of domestic debris, enormous quantities of 2nd to 4th century pottery (predominantly third century - the later pottery only moderate amounts) shells, bones, quern fragments, seen over nine patches of dark soil nearly all on parts of silty hillocks, and wide general scatters over raised silty areas at Frog's Abbey Gate, Holbeach. The site visited March 1952 but no ditch or channel layout distinguishable.{1}{2}{3}{4} The farmer recalls Roman pottery in the plough soil at the indicated site but cannot recall which year.{1}
