Also three fragments of Saxon stone work. {5} During a watching brief in the church grounds, a human skull (TF 5323 3240) was uncovered, this was left in situ and undated. Also found, were three pieces of dressed stone, which are undated and were not retained. These deposits, which were found during groundworks in the church interior, contained redeposited disturbed earlier material including two upturned decorated stone coffin lids, medieval floor tiles and pottery, fragments of roofing lead and window came lead, architectural stone fragments and occasional fragments of disarticulated human bone. Post-medieval pottery, window glass and 17th century clay pipe stems were also recovered from this deposit. Groundworks also took place in the churchyard, and these uncovered a disturbed graveyard soil containing fragments of disarticulated human bone as well as post-medieval pottery and glass and medieval floor tiles. {9}{10}
