Full Description

A wide group of fields, smaller enclosures and droves seen as cropmarks on APs west of Flag Lane, Whaplode, visited in December 1950. Area partly ploughed, partly under grass, yielded only three sherds. No other traces of occupation. {1}{2} DROVES RADIATING NORTH WEST, NORTH EAST, SOUTH EAST AND SOUTH WEST FROM CROSS ROADS, SMALL DITCHED ENCLOSURES IN WEST AND EAST ANGLES AND ALONG WEST OF NORTH EAST DROVE, AFTER IT TURNS NORTH. DROVE TO THE SOUTH WEST EDGED BY LONGISH FIELDS. {3}
