Full Description

Domestic debris, including 2nd to 4th century pottery, was seen over two areas of dark soil. At one area animal bones were also found. The pottery was not very distinctive and was probably all 3rd and early 4th century, except for some late 2nd sherds. There was a high proportion of colour-coated ware. At TF 3087 1718, where much ploughed-up brick and daub had been reported by C.W. Phillips in 1933, daub was noted. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5} During perambulation Romano British greyware sherds were found at TF 3090 1703, but there was no visual evidence of a settlement. The area is under crop. {1}
