IN THE CHURCHYARD IS THE MEDIEVAL BASE AND ABOUT 36 INCHES OF THE SHAFT OF THE ANCIENT CROSS. RESTORED, BY THE ADDITION OF A MODERN UPPER SHAFT, TO A HEIGHT OF ABOUT 6 FEET TO THE NEW CAPITOL, ON WHICH RESTS A PLAIN CROSS WITH A CANOPY, ALSO NEW. {1}{2}{3}{4} THE MONUMENT INCLUDES THE REMAINS OF A STANDING STONE CROSS LOCATED IN THE CHURCHYARD OF ST MARY CHURCH, TO THE SOUTH WEST OF THE SOUTH PORCH. THE CROSS IS MEDIEVAL IN ORIGIN WITH MODERN ADDITIONS. THE MONUMENT INCLUDES THE BASE, COMPRISING A PLINTH AND A SOCKET STONE (WITH DEEP VERTICAL GROOVES ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDES), THE SHAFT, KNOP AND HEAD. {5}, HEIGHT 4M
