GUANOCK HOUSE IS THE SITE OF A NOW LEVELLED MEDIEVAL MONASTIC GRANGE. {1}{2} THIS IS PERHAPS THE SITE OF 'MONKSDOLES', WHERE THE COIN HOARD WAS FOUND WHEN ANCIENT FOUNDATIONS WERE DUG UP WITHIN A DOUBLE RECTANGULAR MOAT. {3}{4}
