Full Description
RB ENCLOSURES IN A CURVILINEAR LAYOUT, POSSIBLE SETTLEMENT AND FIELD SYSTEM. POTTERY AT 22141. {1}
A watching brief was carried out during the construction of Matheson House (TF 3015 1175). A single ditch was observed, which probably represents a continuation of one of the ditch elements known from cropmark evidence. The form of the cropmarks suggests that they are part of a field system. The lack of artefactual evidence recovered from the ditch located during the watching brief (one sherd of pottery) suggests that the focus of occupation was some distance away. {3}{4}
