Full Description
IN THE EARLY C12 GOLDYKE WAS CONSTRUCTED ALONG THE COURSE THAT WAS LATER TAKEN BY THE SOUTH HOLLAND MAIN DRAIN. IT PROVIDED MORE LAND FOR POTENTIAL ARABLE USE, BUT INDICATORS OF SUCH USE, SCATTERED POTTERY, ARE MAINLY CONFINED TO THE NORTH OF THE INTAKE AND ITS GENERAL USE WAS MORE LIKELY TO HAVE BEEN MEADOWLAND. {1}
