Full Description

A coin of William I (1066-87), cut in half to form a halfpenny, was found in 1979 near the village of Donington. The coin is of the profile/cross ans trefoils type (BMC type VII) which was used between 1080-83. It is a coin of the moneyer Godric. The reverse legend reads GO(DRICO)NTLE. {1}{2}
